Dan Berlowitz assumed the position of Bellevue's City Administrator on May 23, 2011. During his three decades of executive experience in the public sector, he has held seven progressively responsible positions.
Dan began his career with the Nebraska State Energy Office, where he stayed for nine years. He then moved to Central City, Nebraska serving as the City Administrator. From 1990 to 2011 he served as City Administrator for Seward, Nebraska. During this time, he was presented the NMPP Energy "BOB ARRAJ" Award For Service Innovation.
Mr. Berlowitz earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and completed graduate studies in Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Omaha.
Since 2003 he has been a fully Credentialed City Manager through the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), and holds Certifications in Management Development, Economic Development, and Community Development Block Grant Program.
Dan is member of the Nebraska Economic Development Association, International City/County Management Association, and Nebraska City Management Association. He served on the Executive Board of the Nebraska City Management Association and held the positions of Vice-President and President from 1991 to 1993.
Mr. Berlowitz has two beautiful grown daughters Danielle and Lindsey. When not in the office, he enjoys spending time with a 13 year old Chinese Pug, who is his demanding sidekick. Dan is an avid Husker football fan and enjoys golf even though he admits it remains a frustrating experience.
