The Bellevue Parks Department, encompasses Parks, Building Maintenance and the Cemetery operations for the City. The Parks Department employs approximately 30 Full and Part-time employees.
The Parks Department is responsible for over 700 acres of parks and green space within the city. This includes Kramer and Haworth Parks, the Dog Park at Jewell Park and the Frisbee Golf course at Aspen/Sun Valley Park. The Parks Department is also responsible for the maintenance of all City trails, the right of way mowing contract, tree maintenance throughout the city.
The Building Maintenance Department is responsible for the maintenance , upkeep and repair of over 100 Public Buildings, 5 pools, 26 playgrounds and for all City Ball Fields.
The Cemetery Department is responsible for preserving the respectful nature of the cemetery grounds and to provide assistance to families regarding interment arrangements for loved ones. Ongoing perpetual care is a continuing service provided by the cemetery staff on a daily basis. The Bellevue Cemetery is able to offer traditional plots and burials, cremation niches, green burial options and a future scatter garden.
