The Bellevue Police Dept. will Remove the Checkpoint to Paradise Lakes & Green Acres

As of 11:00 a.m. today, April 4, 2019, the police checkpoint to Green Acres and Paradise Lakes will be removed.  The Nebraska National Guard will also discontinue service at the checkpoint.  The security and controlled access to the housing developments will be turned over to ownership.  As always, Bellevue Police will respond to any calls for service in both locations.  Green Acres has fenced off the uninhabitable portion of the development.  Barricades will be places at the entrances to Paradise Lakes, as all homes have been declared uninhabitable.  Any further requests for access from the public should go through the ownership of Green Acres and Paradise Lakes.  The City of Bellevue would like to remind the public that both locations are still highly contaminated and personal protective equipment should still be used when entering the area.

Also as of 11:00 a.m. today, April 4, 2019, Harlan Lewis Road will open southbound from Paradise Lakes to Highway 34.  This will be in conjunction with Sarpy County and the Nebraska Department of Transportation opening Highway 34 eastbound from Harlan Lewis.

American Heroes Park has re-opened.  Haworth Park remains closed, and will continure to remain closed for the foreseeable future.
