New Picnic Shelter Near the Playground at American Heroes Park to be Named WoodmenLife Pavillion

The City of Bellevue Recreation Department is proud to announce that the picnic shelter at the new playground at American Heroes Park will be named the WoodmenLife Pavillion after a generous donation from WoodmenLife Chapter WOW 704 NE recently. Bellevue Recreation Director Jim Shada and Public Works Director David Goedeken graciously accepted the contribution.

Doug Dawson from Woodmen Life stopped by the city offices recently to drop off a check and announce that this contribution is dedicated in the memory of CMSgt Don Muhs who embraced the Bellevue and Offutt communities for forty years. After his military retirement, Don sold insurance for WoodmenLife and established Nebraska Chapter 704, the Bellevue chapter. He and his wife Barbara worked tirelessly to share WoodmenLife’s message.

Woodmen Life is proud to continue to celebrate the Bellevue and Offutt communities, in Don’s memory, and remain committed to the values shared here: the values of family, community and patriotism.

The City of Bellevue would like to thank Woodmen Life and the family of CMSgt Don Muhs for this contribution towards this pavilion which will be used by Bellevue residents and visitors to our community for many years to come!
