Bellevue Fire Department Performs Ice Rescue Training
As temperatures start to warm up this week, ice on area lakes and ponds will start to thin which can be hazardous for individuals venturing out onto the ice from the shore. Members of the Bellevue Fire Department took advantage of ideal conditions for this type of scenario this afternoon to train for possible ice rescues at the Bellevue Rod and Gun Club. Fortunately, these types of rescues are rare but this training will be helpful when the firefighters are called out for an actual emergency.
The Bellevue Fire Department would like to thank the Bellevue Rod & Gun Club for supporting these training sessions, over a period of three days, which are invaluable for the firefighters!
