Attendees can remotely enjoy a live yoga session, local music, an Earth meditation, and environmental demonstrations from Keep Omaha Beautiful, Omaha Stormwater, Nebraska Civic Engagement Table, and more!   Sarpy County Earth Day will be presenting a special half-hour segment featuring Bellevue West High School Future Business Leaders of America Zero Waste composting project, the Zoo Academy student eco-presentations, pollinator education from Milkweed Matters, and updates from Green Bellevue’s Vice President, Michelle Foss, Manager of Stewardship and Research for Fontenelle Forest.

“We are proud to partner with Earth Day Omaha this year to deliver an educational Earth Day program and commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the first Earth Day.  While all Nebraskans are focusing on staying safe and flattening the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic, celebrating Earth Day is a way to highlight the serious need to flatten the curve of pollution and consequent damage this causes to the environment,” Foss said.  The Sarpy County Earth Day theme is “Taking Steps to a Cleaner Future” for future generations.

The virtual, on-line event is from 12pm-4pm on Saturday, April 18, 2020.  Visit www.greenbellevue.org for details, including a schedule of events, Speakers and to join the event.
