The City of Bellevue would like to join the Bellevue – Offutt Kiwanis Club and encourage you to attend the 53rd Annual Arrows to Aerospace Celebration this week, culminating with the parade on Mission Avenue and various family friendly events at Washington Park on Saturday, August 17th. A special thank you to the members of the Bellevue-Offutt Kiwanis Club for organizing and coordinating this celebration again this year, as they have done for the past 36 years.

The weather looks almost perfect for the parade, which typically draws thousands of Bellevue residents, starts this Saturday, August 17th, at 10am. The route starts near St. Mary’s Catholic Grade School at the ‘top’ of Mission Avenue and runs down all the way to Washington Park, taking a left at the intersection of Franklin and Mission. Currently there are close to 100 entries, and they will compete for various prizes which will be awarded by a panel of three judges including, Rebecca Zurcher, owner of Erwin’s Jewelers Co; Colonel Aaron Gray, Vice Commander of the 55th Wing, Offutt Air Force Base; and a representative from Bellevue Public Schools.

The City of Bellevue is especially proud that the Bellevue Police Department has been selected to be the Grand Marshal of this year’s parade. According to the Bellevue Times, “Officer David Bafaro, the BPD 2023 Officer of the Year, and Detective Troy Boyle, the BPD 2023 Detective of the Year, will represent the department in the parade.”
