A very special dedication & flag raising ceremony for the new Support Our Troops Ribbon Monument will be held on Friday, Nov. 10th at 11:30am at DJ’s Dugout/Bellevue Keno near 23rd & Cornhusker Rd. in Bellevue. The new Support Our Troops Ribbon Monument commemorates and recognizes our past and present troops that bravely serve our country.
The Support Our Troops Ribbon Monument is located on the west lawn/hill at DJ’s Dugout/Bellevue Keno and is 45’ ft. wide and 31’ ft. tall, made of concrete, and includes 4 ft. tall lettering. The project was fully funded by Bellevue Keno & DJ’s Dugout. “This monument is fitting for the Bellevue/Offutt Community,” said John Hassett owner of Bellevue Keno. “It serves as a symbol of respect and appreciation for the military troops and families that bravely serve our country,” Hassett said.
The monument was designed by Joe Putjenter with Artistic Sign and Design. Concrete work was done by Greg Kimball with A&R Enterprises and DC Electric provided electrical services.
The honor guard and American Flag for the dedication ceremony will be provided by American Legion Post 331 for the dedication ceremony. “The military is such an intregal part of the Bellevue/Offutt community, we wanted to say thank you to those that bravely serve our country including our veterans,” said Darwin Hanssen, owner of DJ’s Dugout Sports Bar. “It’s our hope that this monument serves as a daily reminder of the sacrifices made by our military troops and families,” Hanssen said.
The dedication ceremony will be held on Friday, Nov. 10th at 11:30am at DJ’s Dugout / Bellevue Keno near 23rd & Cornhusker Rd in Bellevue. The public is invited to attend.
