Bellevue Community Foundation Helps Light Up Bellevue University for the Holidays and Other Special Occasions

Donation is made to, " help beautify Bellevue and bring the holiday spirit to the community for many years to come.”

The Bellevue Community Foundation is proud to announce a significant donation to the Bellevue University Foundation in a partnership to provide festive lighting to Bellevue University’s Administrative Service’s Building.  This building, on the campus of Bellevue University, is one of the tallest buildings in Bellevue and due to its proximity in the heart of the City, it can be seen by a large number of Bellevue residents.

The Foundation has provided a financial donation to provide different colors of spot lights which would allow the front and Harvell Road facing sides of the building to change colors in observation of different holidays, events and appreciation days. The spotlights at Bellevue University will be lit at night not only during the holidays, but throughout the entire year. While red and green will be used during the December holidays, other examples include red white and blue for patriotic holidays, blue for Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, purple and gold for Bellevue University commencements. This would be similar to how the Woodmen Tower and First National Bank Building illuminate in downtown Omaha where they change the lights to mark different seasons and events. Bellevue Mayor Rita Sanders, who also serves on the Board of Directors for the Bellevue Community Foundation and helped facilitate this partnership is excited about this project saying, “Since Bellevue University has such a large presence in Bellevue and this building is definitely a Bellevue Landmark, it seemed natural to make a donation that will help beautify Bellevue and bring the holiday spirit to the community for many years to come,”

The BCF is a proud affiliate of the Midlands Community Foundation which was formed to benefit the diverse needs of the Bellevue Community by providing financial support, involvements and service to projects and organizations that enhance our community.
