City of Bellevue and Papio- Missouri NRD Vow that the Levee Improvements Remain a Top Priority
Bellevue Mayor Rita Sanders and Papio Missouri River NRD General Manager John Winkler conducted an interview with KMTV Channel 3 this afternoon. During this interview, they reinforced the fact that despite yesterday's NO Vote on the proposed NRD bond issue, the levee improvements in Sarpy county and around Offutt AFB will remain a top priority and will get done.
The NRD strongly feels that the construction of the proposed reservoirs are still important to the entire flood control system in our area and they will seek alternative funding to make these improvements!
