The City of Bellevue is now accepting applications for the following
seasonal positions:
Streets & Parks
STREET WORKERS - (2)
DUTIES: Performance of unskilled to semi-skilled manual labor of a
diverse and physical nature. (Examples of primary duties performed:
Crosswalk Painting and Traffic Marking.)
ESSENTIAL LICENSES AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must possess a valid Driver’s License. The work required a
considerable amount of physical activity, including walking,
standing, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching and stooping. Must
have the ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
WAGES: $7.25 per hour
HOURS: As assigned - up to 40 hours per week.

PARK WORKERS - (12) CEMETERY WORKER - (2)
DUTIES:
Performance of unskilled to semi-skilled heavy manual labor of a
diverse
and physical nature. (Examples of duties performed: Mowing,
Trimming, Trash Hauling, Painting, Gardening, Pumping Gas, etc.)
ESSENTIAL LICENSES AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must possess a valid drivers license. The work requires a
considerable amount of physical activity, including walking,
standing, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching and stooping. Must
have the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
HOURS: As assigned - up to 40 hours per week
WAGES: $7.25 per hour
Recreation
SWIMMING SUPERVISOR: (1)
Duties: Assist in the supervision of entire swim program including
our swim lesson program. Assist in the registration of swim classes.
Assist with the hiring of all swimming personnel. Supervision of
day-to-day operation and management of the six municipal pools.
Attend necessary meetings.
Wages: $4,000 per season
Hours: Weekday mornings, afternoons, and evenings when needed (40-50
hours per week). Starting first of May until entire pool operations
are closed for the season (late August).
YOUTH BASEBALL/SOFTBALL SUPERVISOR: (1)
Duties: Assist in the supervision of entire youth baseball/softball
program. Assist in registration of all participants. Assist with the
training and scheduling of all umpires to officiate the games.
Assist in the supervision of day-to-day operation and management of
the leagues. Attend necessary meetings. Assist in the operating and
scheduling of workers for the concession facility at Baldwin Field.
Wages: $3,900 per season
Hours: Monday through Saturday (40-50 hours per week). Starting in
April and ending the middle of August.
RECREATION ACTIVITIES SUPERVISOR: (1)
Duties: Assist in the supervision of the summer recreation programs.
Assist in registration of all participants. Assist with the training
and scheduling of all part- time seasonal employees. Assist in the
supervision of day-to-day operation and management of the summer
programs.
Wages: $3,500 per season
Hours: Monday through Sunday (40-50 hours per week). Starting in
April and ending the middle of August.
TENNIS SUPERVISOR: (1)
Duties: Instruct children and adults in basic techniques and strokes
of tennis. Organize and schedule the City youth and adult tennis
leagues. Organize and administer the City Tennis Tournament.
Wages: $8.50 per hour
Hours: Monday through Friday (40-50 hours per week and some
Saturdays). Starting in May through October.
SWIMMING POOL MANAGERS: (6)
Duties: Supervise total operation of swimming pools. Must meet state
requirements. Assign staff to specific duties and work schedules.
Attend required meetings. Reports to Swimming Supervisor.
Wages: $8.75 per hour
Hours: Hours vary mornings, evenings, and weekends (40 hours per
week). Beginning in May until pools close for the season.
HEAD LIFEGUARDS: (6)
Duties: Work as assigned (lifeguard and on occasion assumes the pool
manager’s responsibilities). Must meet state requirements.
Wages: $8.25 per hour
Hours: Hours vary mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends (40
hours per week). Beginning in May until pools close for the season.
LIFEGUARDS: (36)
Duties: Enforce rules and regulations and maintain discipline at the
pools. Provide for the safety of swimmers. Must meet state
requirements. Perform general maintenance and work as cashier when
needed.
Wages: $7.50 per hour
Hours: Hours vary mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends (40
hours per week). Beginning in May until pools close for the season.
SWIMMING LESSON SUPERVISOR: (1)
Duties: Assist in the supervision and daily operation of swimming
lessons and instruct children of different ages in basic techniques
of swimming strokes. Assign staff to specific lesson
responsibilities. Fills in when needed as head lifeguard or
lifeguard at various pools. Must meet state requirements.
Wages: $8.25 per hour
Hours: Mornings and afternoons for swimming lessons. Afternoons and
weekends when substituting for lifeguards (35-40 hours per week).
Beginning in May until pools close for the season.
SWIMMING LESSON INSTRUCTORS: (12)
Duties: Instruct children of different ages in basic techniques of
swimming strokes following the American Red Cross guidelines. Fills
in when needed as lifeguard at various pools. Must meet state
requirements.
Wages: $7.50 per hour
Hours: Mornings and afternoons for swimming lessons. Afternoons and
weekends when substituting for lifeguards (35-40 hours per week).
Beginning in May until pools close for the season.
CONCESSION WORKERS: BALDWIN: (10)
Duties: Sell concessions, clean up concession stand and ballfields.
Wages: $6.00 per hour
Hours: Weekday evenings and weekends (15-20 hours per week).
Beginning in May and ending in August .
YOUTH BASEBALL/SOFTBALL UMPIRE
Duties: Umpire youth baseball and softball games for boys and girls
ages 5-14. The umpire shall conduct the game in accordance with the
rules. The umpire shall administer the coin toss to determine who is
home team. The umpire shall be responsible for keeping track of the
length of the game and decide when to end the game because of time
limit established for each game. The umpire shall be responsible for
recording the score of the games in the leagues where the scores are
being kept. The umpire shall have power to make decisions for
infractions of th rules committed within or outside the boundary of
the playing field. The umpire shall assist in some youth league
practice held during the day hosted by the Recreation Department.
The umpire shall perform general maintenance and work on the
ballfields and surrounding area.
Wages: $5.85-$12.00 per hour (salary varies based on type of game
and qualifications of umpire)
Hours: Weekday mornings, afternoons and evenings (15-20 hours per
week). Saturday mornings (2-4 hrs. per week). Beginning in May and
ending in August.
TRACK SUPERVISOR
Duties: Assist in the supervision of the Track Club. Assist in the
coordinating of all practice schedules and track meets. Assist in
the running of the annual Bellevue Track Club Track Meet. Assist in
the coordination of the volunteer parents group. Assist in the
registration of participants.
Wages: $2,200 per season
Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturdays (30-40 hours per
week). Starting in May and ending in July.
