Author: phil.davidson/Monday, August 27, 2012/Categories: Announcements

At their regularly scheduled meeting on March 26, 2012, the Bellevue City Council voted to cease operations at the Bellevue Marina and to permanently close the facility. Due to this closing the City of Bellevue’s Parks Department is attempting to notify people who may still have personal property at the site such as lifts or canopy’s that can be safely retrieved.

The City of Bellevue will open up the marina to these individuals for the removal of their items on September 8th through September 15, 2012 between the hours of 9am and 7pm.City Staff will monitor the site during these hours of operation. Retrieval of personal property will be the sole responsibility of the slip renter. Proof of ownership will be required.

If you think you may have some personal property to remove from the site of the Bellevue marina, please contact the Parks Department at 402-293-3122 with your intentions.

why can i not get anyone to answer when i call nor return phone calls? i have been down there via river and seen the mess and over growth of weeds....HOW the heck do u expect us to remove property, even the old boat ramp is covered in weeds and mud and silt!!!!!! why has nothing been done to help us out. it took you long enough to even let us come get our things when this could have been done at the start of summer, and made things a little easier....i am very disappointed in the city of bellevue and their lack of coordination and help with this matter!

I agree 100% with the previous comment!! Why has it taken all summer for this to be coordinated? Why has nothing been done to insure the easy and safe removal of our property? We have never been given adequate time and proper ramps to remove our equipment. What happened to the plans to hire a company to come and dismantle the docks so that we can safely remove our property? Why do we keep getting the run around? AND What if it floods again next year? We had all summer to get this done and over with, I just don't understand why this has taken so much time and nothing has been done at all to start cleaning this area up!!!

Shame on Bellevue. I was never informed of this weeks access to the marina and only happened to find out by running into an old slip neighbor. The lack of information and response from the city is ridiculous. The city can blame the old management company all they want but they have let it sit all year and now give owners 1 week to retrieve their property with no help. The city has the capabilities. I only hope that if the city has received any FEMA or insurance money for the marina that it isn't being used or diverted to other parts of the city. The city has already wasted the citizens bond money for the marina by letting it go, Show a little concern for the people that used the marina and the city's services. Boaters spent money in Bellevue.
