City of Bellevue requests feedback on 2012-13 budget

City is transitioning to a priority based budget process

Author: phil.davidson/Friday, July 27, 2012/Categories: Announcements

The City of Bellevue hosted a public forum regarding the 2012-13 fiscal year budget in the city Council Chambers on July 25th. During this forum, City Administrator Dan Berlowitz and Finance Director Rich Severson, along with other Finance Department employees, presented information regarding the planning and process that has gone into this year’s budget. Mr. Severson prepared a presentation, attached to this story, for the public to see what information is being taken into account during this budget process. The City of Bellevue would like to have your feedback on which services are important to you and how those services should be funded such as other service reductions, improved efficiencies, increase in the property tax levy or the sales tax rate. The objective is to introduce a transition to a priority based budget process and the City is interested in your ideas on how to allocate the limited resources available as well as your thoughts on this process. Please comment on this story at www.bellevue.net with your ideas and comments.
