Author: phil.davidson/Tuesday, July 24, 2012/Categories: Announcements

The Bellevue Recreation Department has announced that all the games for July 24th have been cancelled due to the heat! These games will not be made up and the Bellevue Recreation Youth Baseball and Softball Season's are officially over. Recreation Director Jim Shada and the entire Recreation Department would like to thank the 1475 players and over 350 coaches that participated this season and we are hoping for some cooler temperatures next summer so we can play more games. Coaches are reminded to drop your equipment bags off at the Reed Center between the hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday through Friday.

The Astros are the Junior League champions, and the Jays are the Minor League champions. The Knights are the champions of the Mini League and the Mustangs and Panthers are co-champions of the Mite League. Congratulations to all and we hope to see you next year.

Thanks Mr. Shada for a great season. Unfortunately you can not control mother nature.

Baseball is played during the summer. Hot temperatures are to be expected and can be prepared for. Not everyone will be able to come back next year. For those who can, perhaps you might consider starting the season earlier.
