The City of Bellevue Parks Department officially reopened the Bellevue Loop Trail with a brief ceremony this afternoon at the Haworth Park Trail Head. City of Bellevue officials joined the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce and members of the Bellevue Bicycle Club to celebrate the reopening of this popular trail.
The Bellevue Loop trail runs along the levee of the Papio Creek which connects to the Keystone Trail System. The portion of this trail that runs between Haworth Park up to the vicinity of the Kennedy Freeway, has been closed for repairs since the 2011 historic floods compromised the levee system in these areas. The City of Bellevue appreciates the patience that has been shown as we worked with the Papio-Missouri River NRD and various contractors’s to solidify this area and get the trail back open for the enjoyment of the public.
