The City of Bellevue is celebrating ReTree Week by using grant funds from the generous support of the Nebraska Forest Service, Greener Nebraska Towns and Mutual of Omaha grant money to plant 140 new trees in 7 city parks.  On Wednesday and Thursday of this week, volunteers from the Bellevue Tree Board, Green Bellevue and Mutual of Omaha  will be out planting trees in Banner, Golden Hills, Lookingglass, College Heights, Heber and Twin Ridge II Park as well as McCann Field.  City of Bellevue Parks Department staff have been digging the holes in preparation of the volunteer plant.  Neighbors of the parks are pleased to see trees being planted for the future.  Don Preister, project coordinator, said, "Once again this year we are fortunate to have great community support with grant funds, volunteers and staff all working together to make this happen."   "We start with a demonstration of the proper tree planting technique at Banner Park on Wednesday at 12:30 for our volunteers then the fun begins!"
