As we say goodbye to a record -breaking hot summer, Green Bellevue volunteers welcome a guest speaker, John Atkeison, who will address clean energy options at the town hall meeting on September 9.The meeting will be at the Bellevue Public Library at 1:30 PM.

Mr. Atkeison serves as the Energy Policy Director for the Nebraska Wildlife Federation in Lincoln. He is an organizer in the energy policy arena. He served as the Director of Climate and Clean Energy Programs for the Alliance for Affordable Energy in New Orleans and also worked for a solar power hardware manufacturer. John also has experience in the renewable energy field in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and Philadelphia.

Recently, the Nebraska Wildlife Federation has been working with the leaders of Nebraska Public Power District, Lincoln Electric Systems and OPPD to address some of the environmental concerns that arise from burning fossil fuels.  Alternative and renewable energy resources are being carefully evaluated.
