The City of Bellevue, Nebraska with a population of 51,032 and recently included in Money Magazine’s list of the 100 Best Places to live has announced that they are accepting applications for the position of Chief of Police. The person selected for this position will plan, direct and manage a department of 98 sworn officers and 20 civilians and a budget in excess of $14 million. The minimum qualifications for the Chief of Police position include a Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a related field with a Master’s Degree preferred. The successful candidate must have graduated from the FBI National Academy, or related senior police management program and have a minimum of seven years of command level experience in modern law enforcement with progressive responsibility in a variety of police functions as well as supervisory experience.
