Overview
Public Works Administration is located on the upper floor of City Hall, 210 W. Mission (Olde Towne Bellevue). This office is responsible for:
- building and grounds
- cemetery
- fleet maintenance operation
- Geographic Information System (GIS) department
- park department
- recreation department
- street department
- solid waste operation
- wastewater department

The public works director, Jerry Hare, has been with the City since 2004.
Also under the directorship of public works administration is the engineering section and the public works inspector.
The city engineer reviews plans and specifications for construction of sanitary and storm sewers, street paving, sidewalks, etc. Questions may be directed to public works engineering. The engineering section is the repository for all plat maps, zoning maps, street maps, etc. The maps are available for viewing or may be purchased for a small fee.
The primary duties of the public works inspector include tracking and inspecting construction activities performed on public right-of-way and inspecting all city construction projects to assure conformance with approved plans, specifications and safety measures. Questions on construction in the right-of-way within Bellevue city limits or Bellevue's zoning jurisdiction (generally two miles outside the city limits within Sarpy County) may be directed to 293-3042.
